A North Amherst Tradition
From Mike's Westview Cafe to The Harp
The building at 163 Sunderland Road has been bringing people together for generations. Long before it became The Harp, it was home to Mike’s Westview Café, a North Amherst institution whose history at the location stretches back to around the end of Prohibition. Town historical material specifically connects Mike’s Westview Café and The Harp as part of North Amherst’s long commercial history.

When The Harp took over, it carried that neighborhood-pub tradition forward while preserving much of the building’s character—including its old-style bar and the familiar atmosphere that generations of Amherst locals have known.
Today, The Harp Irish Pub is still what this place has been for decades: somewhere to gather with friends and neighbors, grab a good meal, enjoy a pint, catch some music, and feel at home.
The name may have changed, but the tradition never did.
